Japan is a big fan of Ferris Wheels and there are many people who enjoy the gentle ride along with the stunning high-flying views you get s you get to the top.
For people who need something a bit more exciting head to Osaka this August and to Japan’s biggest Ferris wheel, the Redhorse Osaka Wheel in the city’s Expo Commemoration Park.
They have launched the disturbingly named Zombie Ferris Wheel of Hell, with four of its gondolas being turned into small-scale, pitch-black haunted houses that for the 20 minutes or so it takes to do a full rotation on the 123m tall wheel you are stuck with nowhere to run or escape to.
Inside the cabin you put on the supplied headset and sit tight as you can expect loud scary sounds, ominous creaking sounds from the wheel, rumbling seat effects and of course plenty of zombies appearing around you, all while trying to solve the interactive mystery which results in different endings to the attraction depending on your actions.
Its not for the faint hearted or those who are not too big on horror as once it starts there is nowhere to run to.
Experiencing the horror hospital in FujiQ Highland before I know how well the Japanese do there horror so I’m sure this will be an exhilarating experience so go give it a try….If you dare.
If you need a bit of Dutch courage before you get involved the park is also offering a special flavoured Zom-Beer for just ¥700 and non-alcoholic Zombie Drinks for ¥500
The Zombie Ferris Wheel of Hell runs until September 30, and tickets can be purchased at https://ticket.osaka-wheel.com/ from ¥1,500 (Japanese language only)
